"Fruit sugar is still sugar!" – This statement is often heard when it comes to freeze-dried fruit. But what's really behind it? Are our crunchy fruit snacks healthy companions – or secret sugar traps? Time for a clear look at the numbers, facts, and misconceptions.
Freeze-dried fruit consists of 100% real fruit – just without the water. During the drying process, the water is gently removed, but the natural fruit sugars remain. This means that for every 20g of freeze-dried strawberries, there are approximately 200g of fresh fruit. It's logical that the sugar content seems high at first glance – because it relates to a much lower weight.
It sounds like a lot, but nobody eats 100g of freeze-dried strawberries all at once. A typical serving is 10–20g. That equates to around 5–10g of sugar – all natural, with no additives.
Unlike many classic snacks, our fruits contain no added sugar . No glucose syrup, no sweeteners, no fillers. Just what nature provided. And that's precisely the difference:
Freeze-dried fruits are intensely flavorful, filling, and light in weight, making them ideal for portioning. Those who enjoy them consciously benefit from a healthy snack alternative that requires much less snacking to satisfy.
Freeze-dried fruit contains natural sugar, of course. But compared to conventional sweets or fruit gums, they're a much better choice . You get 100% fruit, full flavor, and valuable nutrients – all without artificial additives.
Snack smart – with real fruit enjoyment.
